Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
'The Phil' as it is affectionately known, has been at the heart of the Liverpool's music making for over 167 years. The superb art deco style, Grade ll listed Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, is one of the UK’s top arts and entertainment venues and is owned and managed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, one of the world’s oldest concert-giving organisations.

Philharmonic Hall, which has one of the finest acoustics in Europe, is the home of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, whose principal conductor is the charismatic young Russian,Vasily Petrenko. The orchestra gives 70+ concerts each year with internationally renowned guest artists in its home venue, as well performances in concert halls across the UK and abroad.

Liverpool Philharmonic Hall's year-round programme features top names from classical, contemporary and chamber music, folk, roots, jazz, blues, rock, pop, comedy and spoken word. Classic films are screened on the hall's unique Walturdaw cinema screen, which rises from under the stage, accompanied by Merseyside's only resident organist, the inimitable Dave Nicholas. 'After 8' is a popular series of roots, jazz and unplugged gigs in the intimate, cabaret setting of the Rodewald Suite at the Phil. Firmly established partnerships with Liverpool’s festivals: Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival, Liverpool Irish Festival, Liverpool Comedy Festival, Brouhaha and Writing on the Wall provide opportunities for Philharmonic Hall to present artists and events that enhance and compliment festival programmes across a range of venues in the City, and bring artists of international reputation to Liverpool.
